Coconut oil

Did you know that a certain crab feasts on coconuts? Why are coconuts so popular with both people and crabs?

The coconut (Cocos nucifera) tree is a palm that has been called the tree of a thousand uses. Although it is cultivated in many parts of the world, the majority of plantations are found in Indonesia, India and the Philippines. Coconuts require a hot and humid tropical climate to thrive and can tolerate high levels of salinity.

Highlights of coconut oil

Coconut oil has traditionally been used to moisturise and protect the hair and skin in many cultures, even up till today. We harness the goodness of coconut oil by formulating an extra amount into our soaps to not strip your skin of its oils.

Lauric acid is one of the main fatty acids found in coconut oil. This adds to the overall cleansing power and foaming ability in our soaps, forming a luxurious blanket of silky lather while you shower. On top of that, the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties make it a must-have in our handcrafted products.

For people with sensitive skin who do not want to give up this decadent showering experience, this is a great alternative to commercial body washes that tend to contain sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) or sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS).

By the way, we were not joking about the coconut eating crabs. Enjoy the video
